Our Mission

"...to protect lives and property both real and personal, by providing skilled personnel and modern equipment to respond to emergency situations, through development of fire prevention programs, firefighter training programs, and through participation in interagency cooperatives and mutual aid plans."

We respond to a variety of emergency incidents and provide fire suppression, hazardous material incident stabilization, water and ice rescue, motor vehicle extrication, and supplemental medical services in support of the town-run ambulance service. Through the town-wide Special Operations team, we have the capability to perform rescues in trenches and confined spaces, collapsed buildings, and in low and high-angle environments requiring rope systems.

The Enfield Fire Department supports other fire departments in town and in neighboring towns at major incidents through mutual aid agreements. Together, the five fire departments of Enfield serve a population of 48,000 over an area of 35 square miles. In the event of large-scale incidents, Enfield's Task Force 53 may be activated to assist in emergency services in the region. The fire departments of Enfield are able to mobilize a full task force, consisting of 5 fully-crewed fire apparatus, while still maining complete emergency service coverage for the town.
