Enfield Fire District 1 Offers Back to School Safety Tips

As students prepare to return to school, Chief Edward N. Richards and Enfield Fire District No. 1 would like to offer students, parents and motorists several important safety tips. 

“As schools open for the new year we would like to remind both students and motorists of a few safety precautions to always keep in mind,” Chief Richards said. “Children should never walk in the roads and should always look both ways before crossing the street. Motorists should be aware that children are unpredictable and may suddenly enter the road.”

Safety Tips for Motorists

It is important that motorists be alert while driving, especially in school zones and residential neighborhoods. Children can be unpredictable and may ignore hazards and take risks. The NSC  provides the follow tips for motorists:
