Enfield Fire District 1 Shares Tips for Holiday Fire Safety

As residents prepare for the holiday season, Chief Edward N. Richards and Enfield Fire District No. 1 wish to remind the community of important fire prevention tips.

According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), 44% of holiday home fires start when decorations are placed too close to a heat source, like a candle.

“We would like to remind residents of a few holiday fire safety tips that they should keep in mind this year while decorating their homes for the holiday season,” Chief Richards said. “When decorating their homes, residents should be mindful of any fire hazards such as candles, string lights and fire places.”

Enfield Fire District No. 1 wishes to share the following holiday fire safety tips from the NFPA:

Christmas Tree Safety

 Candle Safety

 General Holiday Decoration Safety Tips
