Enfield Fire District 1 Offers Back to School Safety Tips

With the start of the school year quickly approaching, Chief Edward N. Richards and Enfield Fire District No. 1 would like to offer students, parents and motorists several important safety tips ahead of students returning to school.

“We are extremely excited to see students return to their schools for full-time, in-person learning this year,” Chief Richards said. “With all students collectively returning to schools this year, motorists should expect to see more children out and about during their morning and afternoon commutes. As always, we urge motorists to abide by the rules of the road and remain vigilant of any child entering a roadway.”

Safety Tips for Motorists

It is important that motorists be alert while driving, especially in school zones and residential neighborhoods. Children can be unpredictable and may ignore hazards and take risks. The NSC provides the following tips for motorists:
