Chief Edward N. Richards and Enfield Fire District 1 would like to remind community members that this weekend the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) will host  Bells Across America for Fallen Firefighters, part of  America’s Tribute to Fallen Firefighters.

From October 3-4, community members are invited to join Enfield Fire District 1 and ring their bells in tribute to firefighters who died in the line of duty while protecting neighborhoods across America.

Bells will ring coast to coast as a grateful nation pauses on Sunday, Oct. 4 to honor those firefighters who died in the line of duty in 2019 and in previous years.

This year’s bell ringing will honor the lives of the 82 firefighters who died in the line of duty in 2019 and 21 firefighters who died in previous years. They will be honored during  America’s Tribute to Fallen Firefighters online at 10 a.m., when the bells of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Chapel will toll for our nation’s heroes.
