Deputy Chief William Higgins reports that Enfield Fire District No. 1 participated in LIFE STAR Training earlier this week.

On Tuesday,  Dec. 13, a LIFE STAR crew performed a training session for Enfield Fire District firefighters on its capabilities and functions. Life Star is a critical care helicopter service that responds to and provides air transport for a variety of patients who require care at a tertiary care facility. Crews consist of a flight nurse, flight respiratory therapist, pilot, mechanic and communication specialist.

As part of their training, a LIFE STAR helicopter landed at Station #2.  This training taught the firefighters how to assist in medical emergencies that require the LIFE STAR aircraft for transporting patients.
