Christopher Foley
Commissioner
26 Steele Road
Chris Foley has been a resident of Enfield and EFD #1 for over 30 years. He has recently retired after a long career in the hotel and restaurant business. He worked all over the country as a food and beverage manager for both Marriott and Hilton Hotels. His last position was General Manager at The Corner Pug in West Hartford for over twenty years.
Chris hails from Boston and is from a family closely associated with the Boston Fire Department, thus he has had a lifelong interest in the fire service and the well-being of its members.
He has always been interested in community service; however the hour demand of a hospitality career precluded his ability to volunteer and serve his fellow citizens. Long days and nights at work were not conducive to being available for events and meetings usually held in the evenings.
Now retired he was able to volunteer to fill a vacancy on the Board of Fire Commissioners in 2023. He joined the commission in January 2024 and will stand for election at the annual meeting in May of 2025.
His hopes for his tenure on the commission are to ensure the safety and well-being of all members of the EFD and to represent the best interest of both the Firefighters and the taxpayers. The district is making the transition from a volunteer part time department to a full time 24 hour coverage paid department. Chris feels his business experience will help in this transition by proposing and evaluating new ideas and procedures to meet the best interest of all.
Chris and his wife, Linda, are proudest of their blended family of six children and eleven grandchildren.
