The legal voters and those entitled to vote in the Enfield Fire District No. 1 are hereby warned and notified that a Special Meeting of the District has been scheduled for Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at 7:30 p.m. at the District’s Headquarters Fire Station located at 200 Phoenix Avenue to see what action, if any, the District’s voters will take toward the purchase of one aerial/ladder truck not to exceed $1,600,000.00 to replace the current 1988 aerial platform Truck 12 and to approve the transfer of funds from the District’s general fund for down payment. Printed ballots shall be used. The referendum question shall be as follows:
Shall the Enfield Fire District No. 1 Fire Commission President and/or Treasurer, acting on behalf of the Fire District be authorized to enter into a contract for the purchase of a new aerial/ladder for not more than $1,600,000.00 and shall up to $1,000,000.00 be transferred from the District’s general fund for down payment, with the remainder funded through a Lease Purchase.
At this Special District Meeting vote to be held on September 30, 2020, eligible voters should attend and participate in the drive-through vote. Voting will take place between the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. All voters will enter off Phoenix Ave, stay in their cars the entire voting process, be directed to be verified as legal voters and those entitled to vote, by showing a picture ID through their window, and then proceed to the spot for the vote which will be by ballot, and then exit. Further instructions and information will be available on the District’s website prior to the meeting.
